Ravindra Jadeja could miss the upcoming second Test against England. The game between the two teams is slated to take place from 2nd February in Vizag.

Ravindra Jadeja suffered a hamstring injury during the recently concluded first Test against England. The all-rounder was seen clutching his hamstring after he got run out in the second innings of India on Day 4 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Ravindra Jadeja got run out in the third session of Day 4. The all-rounder tried to sneak in a single after he hit the ball towards Ben Stokes. The England captain put in a great dive and ran from mid-on to gather the ball quickly.

Ben Stokes threw the ball in reverse manner to the the non-striker’s end and effected the direct hit. Ravindra Jadeja was well short of his crease when the ball hit the stumps. As he walked back to the dressing room, he clutched his hamstring.

Although the seriousness of the injury is yet to be known but it didn’t look great for Ravindra Jadeja. If the all-rounder misses the next game, it will be a huge blow for the team because it will no doubt hamper the combination of the team for the next game in Vizag.

Ravindra Jadeja has been the vital cog in the team for the team in the Tests for the last few years. He has consistently contributed equally well with the bat and ball and has been one of the main reasons behind India’s dominance in the longest format of the game.

If Ravindra Jadeja misses the next game, India will likely include Kuldeep Yadav in the playing 11. Axar will continue to be in the playing XI and will be expected to play a big role.

Kuldeep Yadav has been nothing short of exceptional with the ball in the Test cricket. He has made a huge impact for the team with the ball. Despite performing well, he has warmed the bench because of the traffic in the spin department. He has picked 34 wickets in just 8 games he has played.

Ravindra Jadeja’s efforts in the first Test went in vain as India suffer a 28-run loss

Ravindra Jadeja gave his best in the first Test against England with bat and ball. However, despite that India failed to win the game as they fell 28 runs short of the target. They couldn’t chase the target of 231 runs as they were bundled out for 202 runs and went 1-0 down in the series.

Ravindra Jadeja contributed equally well with bat and ball. In the first innings, he picked 3 wickets with the ball and helped his side bundle out opponents for 246 runs. After that with the bat, he was the team’s highest scorer with 87 runs to his name and helped them take a lead of 190 runs.

In the second innings too, Ravindra Jadeja was top-notch with the ball as he bagged two wickets. He looked solid with the bat as well but couldn’t carry on as he got run out. It remains to be seen if he gets fit in time for the next match or not.
