The setback has come with less than 24 hours remaining for the India vs Pakistan face-off, as this is one of the most anticipated fixtures. Both teams head into the game with convincing wins in their opening matches.
Shubman Gill's injury scare amid Asia Cup preparation
After suffering the blow, Shubman Gill was immediately attended by physios and his condition was closely monitored. He soon walked off the pitch and was later seen sitting on the icebox holding his hand, which had sustained the blow.
Also, skipper Suryakumar Yadav and head coach Gautam Gambhir were spotted speaking to the Indian vice-captain. Abhishek Sharma, on the other hand, stood beside the opener and opened the water bottle for him. Minutes later, the Indian vice-captain was back in the nets and was ready to face the next ball.

Shoaib Akhtar scares Pakistan with India hammering their archrivals
The anticipation around the Sunday clash has already been built around India's commanding form, and Pakistan is slowly and steadily reviving under their skipper, Salman Agha. The former Pakistan speedster has a new warning issued for the Pakistan players.
He remarks that the Indian players are all set to play a dominating type of cricket against their archrivals, as the win this time around would be a matter of national prestige.

Sanju Samson, the opening wicket-keeper batter, has been playing for India since 2024 as their opener and has slowly turned himself into a regular in the T20I side, despite his debut going back to 2015.
Samson, last year, was India's most dominating batter, as he scored three hundreds in the calendar year 2024. However, the return of Shubman Gill to the T20I setup marked his demotion from the opening spot.
Samson has been demoted down the order, while if Shubman Gill is ruled out of the competition, then Samson might be handed the opening role again.
