India National Cricket Team, in their preparations for the fourth Test of the series, have faced a lot of injury woes. If it was KL Rahul yesterday, skipper Rohit Sharma and pacer Akash were at the receiving ends of blows in the net session on Sunday ahead of the Boxing Day Test match.

Akash was hit while batting in the nets however, after some treatment seemed fine and continued batting. The pacer seems to be fit for the next match and it won't be a surprise if he retains his place in the team, especially after the display that he showed with the bat in the Gabba.

Akash Deep sets the stage on fire with his batting in the Gabba Test, helping India draw the match

Akash didn't get an opportunity to play in the first two games of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 as Harshit Raan was preferred over him. He, however, was back in the team for the third match of the series, which ended in a draw due to the consistent rains across the game.

Akash also played a massive role in helping India National Cricket Team draw the match. With the way the Australia National Cricket Team were bowling, it was almost certain that they would enforce the follow-on and ask the Rohit Sharma-led side to bat again.

However, Akash Deep, who walked out to bat at No.11, had different plans. He, along with Jasprit Bumrah, stood like a rock on the crease and ensured that the India National Cricket Team avoided the follow-on. He came up with the magical effort with the bat and frustrated the bowlers.

Akash Deep played an innings of 31 runs off 44 balls

Akash Deep played an innings of 31 runs off 44 balls. He, along with Jasprit Bumrah (10), added a brilliant partnership that took India National Cricket Team past 250 runs in response to Australia's 445.

Thanks to their brilliant effort with the bat, the India National Cricket Team saved the match, which seemed to be going towards Australia. He also was decent with the ball in both the innings and would be keen to carry on the confidence going ahead.
