Soon after the BCCI announced the central contracts, Ian Bishop took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his views on the fast-bowling contracts. The former cricketer-turned-commentator called it a ‘very innovative move’ as he praised the BCCI’s step to enhance India’s fast-bowling strength. “Very innovative move by India to give out fast-bowling contracts. I am a big fan of that, especially to see Umran Malik’s name in that list. Any team that wants to be globally competitive must procure and develop quality fast-bowlers.”

Talking about the central contracts, Ishan Kishan as well as Shreyas Iyer failed to make the cut. On the other hand, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, and Hardik Pandya are in Grade A.
Surya Kumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Yashasvi Jaiswal are in Grade B while Rinku Singh, Tilak Verma, Ruturaj Gaekwad, Shardul Thakur, Shivam Dube, Ravi Bishnoi, Jitesh Sharma, Washington Sundar, Mukesh Kumar, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh, KS Bharat, Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan and Rajat Patidar are in Grade C.
