The final chapter of the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 is about to unfold. The final lap of the title race is all set to happen between India and New Zealand. The winner will receive a substantial prize along with the T20 World Cup trophy.

On home soil, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Team India is the favourite to win the trophy. If the Suryakumar Yadav-led team can claim the silverware, then they will be the first in the history of the tournament to defend their title, and that too on the home ground. But, how much money will the champion team receive after the final match? Let's find out.

How much money will Team India receive if they defeat New Zealand in the Grand Finale?

Ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 tournament, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the total prize money, which is $13.5 million, equivalent to around Rs 125 crore. The prize money is 20 percent more than the ICC 2024 T20 World Cup.

Needless to say, the winner will get the most lucrative amount of any other participants of the tournament. As per media reports, the winning side of the T20 World Cup 2026 summit clash will get $3 million (approximately Rs 27.60 crore) along with the trophy. If India wins, defeating New Zealand, then the Men in Blue take home around Rs 27.60 crore along with the silverware.

The runners-up will also get a handsome paycheck. The defeating team between India and New Zealand will be awarded a cheque worth $1.6 million (approximately Rs 14.7 crore).

Every participant of the T20 World Cup 2026 will receive a big chunk of money each

Apart from India and New Zealand, the other two teams- South Africa and New Zealand- who were in the semifinals will receive $790,000 (approximately Rs 7.26 crore) each.

The teams, which were knocked out from the Super 8 stage of the competition, will also not be left empty-handed. Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Zimbabwe, and the West Indies, who qualified for the Super 8, will get $380,000 (approximately Rs 3.5 crore) each. All teams that were in the group stage will also receive $250,000 (approximately Rs 2.30 crore) each.

ICC T20 World Cup 2026 Prize Money Breakdown:

1. The winner of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 will receive approximately Rs 27.60 crore.

2. The runners-up will receive approximately Rs Rs 14.7 crore.

3. The losing teams in the semi-finals will receive approximately Rs 7.26 crore each.

4. The losing teams in the Super 8 will receive approximately Rs 3.5 crore each.

5. The teams which knocked out of the group will receive approximately Rs 2.30 each.

The India vs New Zealand Final of the T20 World Cup 2026 is scheduled to start from 7.00 PM IST today (March 8), Sunday, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Under a clear sky, a run feast is expected at the iconic venue.
