The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reacted to the Indian jersey controversy ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. As per the reports in RevSportz, it is learned that the governing body said that it is not mandatory to have the name of the host nation on the kit.
The India National Cricket Team and the Pakistan National Cricket Team became part of another controversy ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. There have been reports which claimed that the BCCI has denied printing the host nation’s (Pakistan) name on their jersey.

As per the protocol of the International Cricket Council (ICC), all the teams have to write the name of the host nation on their jersey. But the BCCI is against it, and this has invited a strong reaction from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), who expressed their disappointment over the same.
Pakistan Cricket Board officials reacted to the reports, saying that the BCCI is trying to bring politics into the matter. He said that they are confident that the world governing body (ICC) will not let this happen and support Pakistan.

BCCI has now given a befitting response to the PCB, saying that they are playing in Dubai and not Pakistan, so there's no point in having a name on the jersey.
He also mentioned that when the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 tour took place in India, Pakistan's name wasn't written on the podium as it happened in other countries. Speaking to RevSportz, a BCCI insider said:
"It's (name) a custom, not mandatory. Also, we are playing in Dubai. India is not playing in Pakistan, so there's no point in having their name on the jersey. If you look at the Champions Trophy trophy tours outside India, you'll see Pakistan's name on the podium.
"Recently, the trophy came to India but there also, Pakistan's name wasn't there on the podium. Team India jersey will have ICC Champions Trophy written on it as has been the norm in all ICC tournaments."
