Thankfully for him, the ball hit him on the right knee, which got him injured during the horrible accident that he faced. The batter was out of action for more than one year and recently made a comeback for the India National Cricket Team during the T20 World Cup 2024.
Pant, since then, has been part of the Indian team in all three formats of the game. The Lucknow Super Giants skipper is likely to warm the bench during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as head coach Gautam Gambhir openly mentioned that they are looking at KL Rahul as the first-choice keeper.
Rishabh Pant didn't play a single game in the ODI series against England, likely to be benched in ICC Champions Trophy 2025
Pant didn't play a single game in the ODI series against England. This saw team management receiving a lot of criticism for benching him, especially with the kind of player that he has been for India, winning games single-handedly with his explosive batting.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will begin on 19th February, and India will open their campaign against Bangladesh on 20th February. All the games of the Rohit Sharma-led side will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai as a part of the hybrid model.
