Team India’s pace bowling spearhead, Jasprit Bumrah, has raised serious concerns about his availability for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, set to begin in February. There is a possibility of the Indian cricket team entering the upcoming marquee tournament without their premier white-ball bowler.
With the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 approaching, Team India faces uncertainty regarding Bumrah's availability. Bumrah was instrumental in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, finishing as the leading wicket-taker with 32 dismissals. His injury leaves doubts about his recovery before the marquee ICC tournament.
Jasprit Bumrah Absent During Final Innings of Fifth BGT Test
Bumrah was absent in the final innings of the fifth Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test in Sydney. Bumrah sustained a back injury while bowling during the first innings. His absence was felt for India as Australia secured a six-wicket victory. Australia clinched the series and a spot in the World Test Championship Final.
The right-arm fast bowler was taken for scans on Day 2, but his participation was undecided until Day 3. He came to bat for India in the second innings, but he did not bowl. In his absence, Virat Kohli took charge, but the bowling attack, led by Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj, struggled to make an impact.
