Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that the ICC meeting to discuss the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 schedule and venues has been postponed. During a press conference in Lahore, Mohsin Naqvi provided no updates, leaving the tournament's future uncertain.

Pakistan is set to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has declined to travel, citing security concerns. Pakistan rejected India's proposal for a hybrid model but later agreed to it, with a "Partnership or Fusion Formula" for the upcoming ICC events.

We Will Not Disappoint The Nation - Mohsin Naqvi on ICC Champions Trophy 2025

On Saturday, Mohsin Naqvi said that the ICC meeting regarding the Champions Trophy had been postponed. He assured the media in Lahore that updates would be provided once the details were finalized.

Naqvi emphasized ongoing talks and added that they want to secure the best possible outcome for Pakistan and international cricket. He highlighted that any setback in the ICC would affect cricket across the world.

"We had a meeting (with the ICC) today, it's been postponed. Once the details have been finalised, we'll update you. We will not disappoint the nation," Mohsin Naqvi said in a video posted by PCB on X (formerly known as Twitter).

"Talks are still ongoing, but I do not want to say anything that is premature. We are aiming to achieve the best for Pakistan and international cricket. If the ICC progresses, cricket will progress. If there is a dent in the ICC, it will be felt across the world," he added.

India to Host Women's ODI World Cup 2025, Men's T20 World Cup 2026

The "Partnership or Fusion Formula" allows India and Pakistan to play their matches in ICC tournaments at neutral venues. ESPNcricinfo confirmed the hybrid model, but the PCB, the official host of the upcoming tournament, has not made a public statement, only mentioning that discussions are ongoing.

It remains uncertain if the hybrid model will apply to women's tournaments as well. India will host two ICC tournaments in the 2024-25 cycle. The women's ODI World Cup will take place in India in 2025, and the men's T20 World Cup in 2026, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

India Last Played in Pakistan in Asia Cup 2008

India hasn't played an international match in Pakistan since the 2008 Asia Cup, and their last full tour of Pakistan was in the 2005/06 season, featuring both ODI and Test series. The two countries have not had a bilateral series since 2012-13, when Pakistan visited India for two T20Is and three ODIs.

India and Pakistan have faced off in multi-national tournaments. They last played against each other during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in New York, where the Men in Blue emerged as victors.
