Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is all set to take strict action against the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over not sending the India National Cricket Team to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. As per the reports in NDTV, it is learned that is likely to go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
There have been various reports that have claimed that the India National Cricket Team will not be traveling to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. It is learned that the Indian government has denied giving clearance to BCCI to send the Indian team to Pakistan for the tournament.
BCCI has written to the ICC to conduct the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in a Hybrid model
There have been several reports too which have suggested that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has written to the International Cricket Council (ICC) to conduct the tournament in a Hybrid model with India playing their game either in the United Arab Emirates or Sri Lanka.
Since the last few months, there have been a lot of talks going on around India's participation in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This is because two teams have been engaged in political tensions and they don't play each other regularly because of that only.
India hasn't travelled to Pakistan for more than one decade, while Men in Green, on the other hand, came to India for the T20 World Cup 2016 and, most recently, the ICC World Cup 2023. This has been one of the main reasons why BCCI isn't keen to send a team to Pakistan, especially due to security threats.
BCCI source makes maasive statement
A source close to BCCI recently made a strong statement, saying that they have informed ICC and it is their responsibility now to inform the host nation. He while talking about the development about the same to PTI, stated:
"This is an ICC event and BCCI has informed the global body that it won't travel to Pakistan. It will depend on the ICC to inform the host nation about the development and then close in on the scheduling of the tournament. The convention is to announce the schedule 100 days before the commencement of the event."
Mohsin Naqvi confident of staging the entire ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan.
On the other hand, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has made a strong statement, too. He recently mentioned that they haven't heard anything about the hybrid model, and they are very confident of staging the entire ICC tournament in Pakistan.
Mohsin Naqvi, who is also a federal interior minister in the current government, said that if India doesn't come to Pakistan, then he will have to consult his government for further directives. So far, there hasn't been any official confirmation about the same, but if the Hybrid model takes place, Dubai seems to be the prime venue for the hybrid model.
