The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah has come as a massive hurdle between ICC and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). This comes after the global cricket body allowed the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 tour across various cities in Pakistan.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 silverware arrived in Islamabad, Pakistan, on Thursday (November 14), and it will be toured across various cities in Pakistan. The Trophy tour will take place from November 16 to 24, announced PCB.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Trophy will be taken to various cities in Murree, Hunza, Muzaffarabad, and Skardu. Apart from this, the title will also be taken to the second tallest mountain in the world after Everest, K2.

However, this hasn't gone well with the Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Jay Shah. The top official at the Indian body has strongly objected and condemned the move to have a trophy tour of cities 'Pakistan Occupied Kashmir', as per the latest reports in PTI.

Jay Shah reportedly has asked the ICC to take stern action against such a move

Jay Shah reportedly has asked the International Cricket Council (ICC) to take stern action against such a move. The global cricket body, however, took an immediate step after the BCCI's secretary's objection and the the trophy tour has been put on hold.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to be played across three venues in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. But the trophy won't be taken to these three venues because of the smog. The trophy has kept many involved in it as there is a lot of uncertainty about the venue and the schedule.

ICC writes to BCCI asking about their decision not to come to Pakistan

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has written officially to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) asking about their decision to not come to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. As per the reports in Geo News, it is learned that the global cricket body has asked for an explanation from the Indian body.

India National Cricket Team have opted against travelling to Pakistan for the ICC Champions 2025. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) didn't get clearance from the Indian government, and hence, they wrote to the International Cricket Council that they wouldn't be playing the tournament in Pakistan.

The same message reportedly was conveyed to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) by the International Cricket Council (ICC), and they asked for the Hybrid model. However, the host board didn't agree and asked the global body to ask the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for an explanation for their decision.

The ICC, however, has now asked BCCI to explain, and the reports claimed that if the Indian body failed to give the proper reason, then they might have to face tough time. It is learned that if the explanation is invalid, then the Indian team will be forced to travel to Pakistan to play in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The source close to the developments stated that the Pakistan Cricket Board will need evidence supporting the reasons behind India's decision not to play.
