Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has predicted an end of an era for Indian cricket, as he boldly suggested that Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja will be playing their final ICC tournament in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

He said that the Indian fans will see Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja donning the blue jersey in the ICC event for the last time. Chopra has made a valid explanation behind his bold prediction before the Men in Blue embark on their journey to Dubai.

Aakash Chopra predicts Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja set for their last dance in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025

With India missing out on the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final 2025, the modern era greats will not have the chance to play there, and then the trio is already retired from T20I cricket, so the next year’s ICC T20 World Cup is also out of the picture for them.

Notably, the trio retired from T20I cricket after winning the T20 World Cup last year in July. Well, Chopra doesn’t think the three of the biggest names in Indian cricket will feature in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027. So, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 may be the last dance of India’s biggest match-winners on the grandest stage.

ICC Champions Trophy 2025: There is a strong possibility - Aakash Chopra explains his bold statement

Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel, “I am saying with a heavy heart that you are right. There is a strong possibility. The ICC Champions Trophy is about to happen, and after that, there will be another ICC event this year, which is the WTC (World Test Championship) final, and we haven't reached there. So, none among Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja will play that.”

The commentator further explained, “After that, the ICC event next year is the T20 World Cup, but all three have retired from that format. So, all three won't play there as well. The ODI World Cup will be in 2027, which is a bit too far. The world will look very different by 2027. I think the players also feel this could be their last.”

Will Rohit, Virat, and Jadeja make it to the 2027 World Cup?

However, Aakash Chopra believes that it's too early to rule out Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja from the 2027 ODI World Cup. The cricket pundit stressed that fitness might not be the issue, but their form and how the think tank plans things will decide their fate.

The former Indian batter also lamented that the media doesn’t pay that much attention to Jadeja’s fitness like Kohli’s, saying the star all-rounder is as fit as the former Indian skipper, but their participation in the 2027 ODI World Cup mostly depends on their own calls.

Chopra signed off by saying, “We always say never say never, that you might see Rohit playing the next World Cup and Virat and Jadeja could be seen for sure as he (Jadeja) is super fit. We don't talk about Jaddu's fitness that much. He is as fit as Kohli and might be fitter than him, but we talk about Kohli remaining fit till 2027. The question won't be whether these people can play till then.”
