The reports in PTI claimed that sending Rohit Sharma to Pakistan is still under consideration. It is learned that there are certain issues that BCCI needs to consider if its captain visits Pakistan for a customary photo shoot and pre-event press conference.
There were some other sections of the reports which claimed that BCCI has requested ICC to shift the pre-tournament captains' engagements to the UAE. But it will be a very difficult thing to do, considering that all the other teams will be playing the games in Pakistan.
India will be playing all their games in the UAE during the ICC Champions Trophy 2024. Their opening game will be played against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team on 20th February, followed by games against the Pakistan National Cricket Team and New Zealand National Cricket Team on 23rd February and 2nd March respectively. They would be keen to win the title as they lost to Pakistan in the final of the tournament last time in 2017.
