The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on Saturday (1st March) was host to the South Africa vs England clash at the National Stadium in Karachi. The Proteas side thrashed the Jos Buttler-led side by seven wickets and booked their berth in the semi-final of the tournament.
England won the toss and opted to bat first, but it was a terrible outing from the right from the start. Phil Salt (8) was the first wicket to fall in the opening over as it opened the floodgates as Marco Jansen was all over the top order of the Jos Buttler-led side, picking three wickets.

Ben Duckett (24) looked decent with the bat but couldn't carry on. The same fate unfolded for Joe Root (37) as well as England lost half of their side for just 103 runs and came under massive pressure with South Africa being electric on the field as well.
Joe Buttler (21) and Jofra Archer (25) added 42 runs for eight wickets but couldn't go big as England got all out for 179. Marco Jansen and Wiaan Mulder picked three wickets while Keshav Maharaj also bagged two wickets along with Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi, who took one wicket each.
Rassie van der Dussen and Heinrich Klaasen hit vital half-centuries to take South Africa to a 7-wicket win
South Africa, in the chase, lost Tristan Stubbs for a duck, but Ryan Rickelton (27) and Rassie van der Dussen (72*) added 36 runs for the second wicket to start the chase on high. After the left-hander was back, Heinrich Klaasen (64) joined Rassie, and the duo together added 127 runs for the third wicket.
Both the batters slammed magnificent half-centuries as South Africa chased the target with seven wickets in hand.
