Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee chairman Zaka Ashraf has confirmed that the men’s cricket team coach will be retained at least until the ODI World Cup 2023. Zaka Ashraf admitted that the board wanted to back the coaching staff ahead of the Asia Cup and World Cup.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has recently established the Cricket Technical Committee (CTC) with former Pakistan skippers Misbah-ul-Haq, Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Mohammad Hafeez. According to recent reports, the CTC would appoint the new coaching staff ahead of the marquee event.

We Should Not Disturb Them – Zaka Ashraf

In a recent interview with a local media outlet, Zaka Ashraf spoke highly of the team’s performance, emphasizing the importance of retaining the current coaching staff.

“I believe this team is performing and we should not disturb them,” Ashraf said.

“Currently, we have no intentions to change the coaching staff or players. We already discussed this with our technical committee. We will give them time as Asia Cup and World Cup are just around the corner,” he added.

Grant Bradburn currently serves as the head coach of the team, while Andrew Puttick and Morne Morkel hold the positions of batting and bowling coaches, respectively. Mickey Arthur is the team’s director, currently working virtually.

It Will Be A Proud Moment – Zaka Ashraf

Zaka Ashraf expressed hope to win the titles in the Asia Cup and the World Cup, which would be a proud moment for the entire nation.

“We are trying to make a strong squad who can compete strongly in the Asia Cup and World Cup,” he further stated.

“I wish that our team wins Asia Cup and World Cup. It will be a proud moment for the entire nation,” he concluded.

The Babar Azam-led team will commence its World Cup journey with a match against the Netherlands at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on October 6. Pakistan is set to engage in a high-octane encounter against arch-rivals India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
