The International Cricket Council (ICC) has come up with the ratings for the pitches in India following the Test series against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team and New Zealand National Cricket Team. The Rohit Sharma-led side played the 5 games in the longest format of the game in the home season across five different venues.

The home Test season for the India National Cricket Team started with the first Test against Bangladesh National Cricket. The first match of the series was played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and the International Cricket Council has rated the pitch as "Very Good"

The second match of the series between the teams took place at Green Park in Kanpur. The game saw only two and a half days getting played due to the rain as well as the wet outfield. However, for the same, ICC has punished the Indian team as they have rated the outfield of Green Park as "unsatisfactory". However, the pitch has been rated satisfactory.

After that, the India National Cricket Team locked horns with the New Zealand National Cricket Team in the three-match Test series. The first match was played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, followed by the last two games, which were played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune and Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, respectively.

ICC rates all the pictches for New Zealand Test series as "Satisfactory"

While the pitch at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru offered help to pacers, the pitches in Pune and Mumbai were a feast for the spinners. The ball spun sharply, and the batters of both teams struggled to get going and lost wickets at regular intervals.

However, for all three surfaces, the International Cricket Council has given the rating of "Satisfactory".

The rating of pitches and outfields for all international games are rated on a scale of very good to unfit: very good, satisfactory, unsatisfactory, and unfit. For an unsatisfactory rating, one demerit point is awarded to venues, while three are given for an unfit rating. If any ground receives five or more demerit points in a five-year rolling period, it is suspended from hosting any international cricket for 12 months.

India didn't have the kind of season they would've wanted

India National Cricket didn't have the kind of season they would've wanted. The Rohit Sharma-led started the Test season on as high as they beat the Bangladesh National Cricket Team in both games and with the kind of cricket that they played, it seemed the same things would unfold against New Zealand as well.

However, it was a completely different outing for the India National Cricket Team. They were dominated by the New Zealand National Cricket Team as they faced whitewash at home. This was the first time they they went on to lose all three games of the series at home.

Not only this, they also were jolted with the crucial World Test Championship points. Ahead of the New Zealand series, they were at the top, but after that, they dropped to second spot. And now, to qualify, they need to win four games in Australia, along with one draw. They cannot afford to lose even one game.
