The International Cricket Council (ICC) has defended the absence of Pakistan's logo during the broadcast of the match between India and Bangladesh in the Champions Trophy 2025. The ICC called it a "technical issue" that prevented the name 'Pakistan' from appearing in the logo.
During the broadcast of the Champions Trophy fixture between India and Bangladesh in Dubai, the name of the host country 'Pakistan' wasn't there in the official logo of the tournament. It also led to widespread talks on social media.

ICC defends the absence of Pakistan's name in the Champions Trophy logo
An ICC official clarified that the absence of the logo was due to a technical issue and nothing else. The official claimed that the glitch could not be rectified instantly as it was not possible to do it between the games.
“The omission was due to a graphics-related technical issue, which will be rectified from tomorrow. It was not possible to change the logo during the match.” the official was quoted as saying by Geo TV.
The ICC official further confirmed that Pakistan's name was there in the social media clips because the technical issue was only with the broadcast. Pakistan's name will appear in the logo of all the remaining matches of the Champions Trophy 2025.
Controversies surrounding Champions Trophy 2025
There have been varied issues leading up to this Champions Trophy, beginning with India's refusal to travel to Pakistan. As a result, the ICC decided to hold the tournament in a hybrid model to ensure that India plays despite not traveling to their neighboring country.
According to the BCCI, the government of India didn't permit them to send the Indian team to Pakistan due to security concerns. While India won't travel to Pakistan, all the other teams in the tournament agreed to play there.
Team India will now play all of its matches in Dubai even if they qualify for the knockouts. Another controversy occurred after speculations about Pakistan's name not appearing in India's team jersey for the Champions Trophy.
The report had drawn huge criticism from Pakistan's media and public. However, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia later clarified that they will follow all the protocols and India have obliged to have the host country's name on their jersey.
India vs Pakistan coming soon
India and Pakistan will face each other in a high-voltage clash on February 23 in Dubai. It is easily the most anticipated match of the tournament given the history and the political relations between the two countries.
It will be a do-or-die game for Pakistan as they aim to keep their hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals alive. The Men in Green had lost their opening match to New Zealand in Karachi and are currently low in confidence.
Their chances took a further blow after the explosive opener Fakhar Zaman was ruled out of the tournament following his unfortunate injury while fielding against New Zealand. Imam-u-Haq has replaced him in the squad and is likely to open the batting against India.
On the other hand, India started their campaign with a win over Bangladesh in Dubai. India was dominant for most of the match and despite some hiccups, they were able to reach the target comfortably in the end.
