England pacer Jofra Archer opened up about his possibility of playing the T20 World Cup 2024. He said that with the kind of injuries that he has faced over the last few months, he doesn't know if he will be able to play in the tournament or not.

Jofra Archer surely is one of the unluckiest cricketers ever to have played the game of cricket. When he broke into the scene, he was touted as one of the most lethal pacers in the game in all three formats. He also helped England claim the ICC World Cup 2019 with his sensational fast bowling.

However, nothing went his way after that. Jofra Archer's career has been marred by a lot of injuries and he has missed a lot of cricket for the England National Cricket Team. The fast bowler has been putting in a lot of hard work for his comeback since then.

Jofra Archer has started bowling again and is on the verge of making a comeback. He was recently in India, playing practice games for Sussex, and is right on the track for recovery. The pacer also troubled batters with his pace and is gearing up well for the T20 World Cup 2024.

Jofra Archer talked about his frustrating injury and said that since the last one year, he has been doing nothing. But he expressed his desire to be fit for the next one year. He stated that his recovery is going well but he isn't sure about getting injured again. Speaking to 4Cast's 'The Athlete's Voice' podcast, he stated:

"Last year, I played from January to May, because I did go to the IPL as well. And then the year before that, I played maybe one or two games for Sussex, so I've had a whole year of nothing.

"Hopefully, from June 1 to when June 1 comes next year, hopefully I've had no breaks... no injuries, and just constantly playing. It's been a while and honestly, I don't know if I've got another stop-start year in me. That's the truth, I don't know if I've got another one."

I want to play in the World Cup - Jofra Archer

Jofra Archer further talked about his ambitions to play consistently. The pacer said that even if he doesn't make it into the team for the T20 World Cup 2024, he wants to play somewhere else. Talking about the same, he stated:

"There's still the T20 Blast, there's still the Hundred. There's still cricket that I haven't got a chance to play in the last couple of years. As much as I want to play in the World Cup, if it doesn't happen for whatever reason, at least I still know I could be somewhat active as well."

It remains to be seen if the fast bowlers will play for England in the T20 World Cup 2024 or not. The tournament will be played in the United States of America and the Caribbean in the month of June and his presence will be a massive boost for the team if he plays.
