The countdown to the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 has officially begun as the International Cricket Council started ticket sales for the mega event on December 11, offering fans an incredible chance to watch the world’s best cricketers live at record-low prices across India and Sri Lanka.
The 10th edition of the ICC T20 World Cup will be co-hosted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) from 7 February to 8 March, across eight stadiums. The tournament will feature 20 teams playing 55 matches in the subcontinent.

The upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026 opener will see Pakistan taking on the Netherlands in Colombo, while the West Indies is set to face Bangladesh in Kolkata, and the defending champions, India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, will clash with the USA in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, the ICC has announced that the entry-level tickets in India start from just ??? 100 (around $1.11), while in Sri Lanka, fans can book their seats for as little as LKR1000 (about $3.26). With tickets so affordable for the upcoming event, cricket fever is set to reach new heights in India and Sri Lanka.

The governing body of the game has made it easier for fans to attend the showpiece event by offering tickets at very low prices in the first phase of sales, with over 2 million tickets available. The reason behind keeping the ticket price so low is to give more cricket fans the chance to enjoy live matches and experience the excitement of the tournament in the stadium.

Venues for ICC T20 World Cup 2026
Speaking about the venues for the mega event, Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Eden Gardens in Kolkata, MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, and Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi will host the Indian leg of the tournament.

On the other hand, R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Singhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground in Colombo, and Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy will host the Sri Lankan leg of the upcoming global event in February-March next year.
