On Wednesday, August 23, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the warm-up fixtures for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which is set to be held in India.

The marquee tournament is scheduled to begin on October 5 with the battle between last World Cup’s finalists – New Zealand and England – at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The final of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which will be the 13th edition of the Cricket World Cup, will be held on November 19 in Ahmedabad.

Ahead of their participation in the competition, the 10 teams will play two warm-up games each. The warm-up games are set to be hosted by Guwahati, Hyderabad, and Thiruvananthapuram between Friday 29 September, and Tuesday 3 October.

The warm-ups will begin with Bangladesh vs. Sri Lanka, South Africa vs. Afghanistan, and New Zealand vs. Pakistan on the first day. Talking about the hosts India’s warm-ups, they will face England on September 30 and Netherlands on October 3.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has also revealed that the matches will begin at 2:00 pm IST and all the 10 teams will be allowed to field all 15 members of their squads during the matches to prepare well ahead of the main competition in India.

Meanwhile, the Men In Blue will open their World Cup campaign against Australia on October 8 in Chennai. Also, the high-profile battle between India and Pakistan is set for October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
