Prithvi Shaw, the right-handed Indian batsman, opened up on his repetitive India snub and said that he is disappointed and also added that he wants to win the World Cup for India.

In the England Domestic One-Day Cup 2023 on Wednesday (August 09), Prithvi Shaw wrote his name on the elite list after he scored 244 runs from 153 balls against Somerset at the County Ground in Northampton.

The 23-year-old batsman scored a century in his India debut against West Indies in the Test format but later became the least favorite batsman in the books of the team management.

While speaking to Cricbuzz, Prithvi Shaw said that he still doesn’t know why he was dropped from the India squad and added that it is not because of fitness issues since he has cleared all the tests at NCA and came back to scoring runs.

“When I was dropped, I didn’t get to know the reason. Someone was saying it could be fitness. But of course, I came here (to Bengaluru) and cleared all the tests at the NCA, again scored runs, and again came back to the T20 team,” Shaw said.

The Indian batsman said that he was disappointed when he didn’t receive India recall for the West Indies tour.

“But again, I didn’t get a chance in the West Indies. I’m disappointed, but you just have to move forward. I can’t do anything; I can’t fight with anyone,” Shaw added.

All the hard work is just for that: Prithvi Shaw shares his dream

Shaw also added that all this hard works are just to achieve one dream which is to play for 12-14 years for India and win the World Cup for the country.

“All the hard work is just for that. That is the one dream: I want to play for at least 12–14 years for India. I want to win the World Cup for India,” he further added.

Prithvi Shaw had a disappointing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 with Delhi Capitals (DC) and scored only 106 runs in 8 games.
