ICC World Cup 2023: Jacques Kallis Picks Anrich Nortje As Leading Wicket-Taker For Tournament

Former South Africa all-rounder Jacques Kallis feels that Anrich Nortje will be the leading wicket-taker in ICC World Cup 2023. Jacques Kallis also hopes that Anrich Nortje will help South Africa come up with a good show in the tournament.
Anrich Nortje will be one of the pacers for South Africa in ICC World Cup 2023. He is a right-arm pacer and among one of the fastest in international cricket currently. In 2023, the 29-year-old has hunted 8 wickets in 2 Tests. In ODIs, he grabbed 8 scalps in 4 ODIs games this year averaging 22.0.
I Am Going To Go With Anrich Nortje: Jacques Kallis
During an ICC video, South Africa legend Jacques Kallis was asked who could emerge as the leading wicket-taker in ICC World Cup 2023. Kallis feels that Anrich Nortje can finish as the leading wicket-taker in the ICC tournament.
“For me, I am going to go with Anrich Nortje. He’s South African, I’ve got to go for him and he’s bowling well at the moment. Hopefully, he’ll keep that form into the World Cup and play a big role in helping us go very far in the World Cup,” the Proteas stalwart said.

Former West Indies player Viv Richards feels that Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi might emerge as the leading wicket-taker in ICC World Cup 2023.
“The leading wicket-taker in the World Cup will be Shaheen Afridi because I have seen him in Pakistan. I spent some time in the PSL and I have seen his massive growth. [He is a] highly determined individual. He is my man,” the Caribbean legend said.

In 2023, Shaheen Afridi has shown a good form. The left-arm pacer has hunted 14 wickets in 7 ODIs at an average of 21.0. In 2 Tests, he has picked 6 wickets this year.
Meanwhile. ICC World Cup 2023 begins on October 5 in India. There are 10 teams in the tournament namely- India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, England, and Netherlands.
