Former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly will be a part of a committee that will look after the preparations of the Eden Gardens in Kolkata ahead of the upcoming ODI World Cup in India.

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has already sped up its work to host the World Cup matches atthe iconic stadium in Kolkata without any mishap.

However, CAB needs to keep the safety of the fans in their mind since a few days there was a fire incident that took place in the dressing room of the stadium during the renovation work.

Following the incident, CAB officials confirmed that no damage took place and the incident most likely took place because of some issue in electric wires.

Senior members of CAB and former BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly will be a part of the committee which will look after the renovation work and confirm that the works are complete by the given time.

Sourav Ganguly’s presence in the committee will play a major role due to his experience in organizing such tournaments.

“Eden’s work is going well. The work will be completed in time,” Ganguly said.
