Former West Indies cricketers Ian Bishop and Daren Ganga have selected their top run-getters for the upcoming edition of the ODI World Cup, scheduled to take place in India. Both Ian Bishop and Daren Ganga have predicted Indian superstars as the most likely leading run-scorers.

The 13th edition of the ODI World Cup will be played between October and November this year. The Rohit Sharma-led team is considered one of the favourites to win the title, especially given that the home team has emerged victorious in the last three editions of the 50-over World Cup.

In a special session known as ‘Behind The Stumps,’ hosted by OneCricket, Daren Ganga picked Rohit Sharma as the highest run-getter, while Ishan Bishop named Virat Kohli.

When asked about the top wicket-taker for the World Cup, Ganga chose Indian leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, while Bishop selected Sri Lankan spin bowler Wanindu Hasaranga.

If He Is Fit, Shreyas Iyer – Ian Bishop

India’s batting lineup remains unsettled at the moment, with KL Rahul and Shreyas not fully recovered from their injuries. India’s top 3 is almost finalized with Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli. The ex-West Indies cricketers also shared their opinions on the No. 4 batter.

“Shreyas Iyer,” Ganga said.

“If he is fit, Shreyas Iyer,” Bishop said.

Ganga named ‘Jasprit Bumrah‘ as a player to Watch out for in the Asia Cup and World Cup, and Bishop picked ‘Kuldeep Yadav‘.

Ganga reckons Hardik Pandya as the future captain of the Indians, and Bishop described it as a hard question. “That’s a too challenging question unless you can guarantee he plays all three formats,” the former pacer said.

I Am Going With Both – Ian Bishop

Virat Kohli and Babar Azam are regarded as the best batters in the world at the moment. But the comparison often centers on who displays the most picturesque cover drive. Ganga and Bishop shared their personal opinions on the long-lasting debate.

“Virat Kohli,” Gaga said.

“It’s a tie. If I have the option of both, I am going with both because I switch my television on and both are my favourites,” Ian Bishop said.

Virat and Babar will be seen in action together during the upcoming edition of the Asia Cup, which is scheduled to be played in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The neighbouring nations will compete at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele on Saturday, September 2.
