Cricket Australia have pulled out two key players Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh for the upcoming Hundred League to manage their workload for the ICC World Cup 2023 in India and the T20 World Cup 2024 in the Caribbean and the US.
Both Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh were set to be part of the London Spirit under the coaching of Trevor Bayliss but Cricket Australia was stern on their decision. The Australian duo were due to receive the huge amount of £125,000 (US$160,000) but with them pulling out will cost them financially as well.

Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh withdrawing their name will be a huge blow for the team London Spirit as they would now be in search of overseas players. The Hundred tournament is set to be played from 1st to 27th August.
Cricket Australia spokesperson revealed the development and said that Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh are coming off the injuries and management wants to keep them fresh for upcoming assignments.

Speaking to ESPNcricinfo, he said: “In discussions with both players, it was agreed that with a long campaign ahead, including two World Cups, it’s in their best interests to be physically refreshed and at their best for the one-day World Cup and beyond. Both are also coming from recent injuries.”
