The Pakistan national cricket team resumed their ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 campaign with an embarrassing series loss to the Bangladesh national cricket team. They have now slipped to the eighth place in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 points table.
The Shan Masood-led Pakistan cricket team faced a double blow as Bangladesh scripted history on May 20. Bangladesh crushed Pakistan by 78 runs in the second after crushing them by 104 runs in the first Test to record their first-ever series sweep 2-0, against the Men in Green at home.
The tourists had already been slapped with an 8-point deduction by the ICC due to a slow over-rate offense during their shocking loss in Dhaka, and now another embarrassment at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium severely dented their WTC 2025-27 final qualification hopes.
Bangladesh jumps to 5th place while Pakistan dropped to 8th Place in WTC Points Table
After whitewashing Pakistan for the first ever time at home in the two-match Test series, the Bangladesh national cricket team moved to the fifth place in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 points table, dropping India to the sixth place. The Tigers now have 28 points from 4 Tests so far on the updated WTC Points Table with 58.33 PCT points.
On the other hand, Pakistan slipped to the eighth place, losing three of their four Tests in the ongoing WTC cycle, but they were severely hit by the ICC fine. After losing 8 points because of slow offensive play in Dhaka, the Pakistan team now has only four points (8.33 pct points).
Presently, Australia is far ahead of the rest of the 8 teams on the WTC Points Table with 87.50 PCT points and 84 points from 8 Tests that they have played so far in this cycle. New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka sit in the second, third, and fourth places in the updated ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 points table.
