ICC World Test Championship Points Table, WTC Table After BAN vs SA 1st Test 2024

The ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Points Table has been changed after the first Test of the ongoing two-match series between Bangladesh and South Africa.
Following the victory in the away game, the Proteas team boosted their chances to reach their first-ever World Test Championship final match.
The South Africa national cricket team secured the victory by 7 wickets at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Thursday, October 24.
They started the two-match Test series against Bangladesh on a winning note. The visiting team took an early lead of 1-0 before the second and final Test match.
Bangladesh Bowled Out for 106 Runs in First Innings
The home team managed to score just 106 runs in the first innings after winning the toss. Wiaan Mulder initiated the collapse by picking up three early wickets in Bangladesh's innings.
Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj secured three wickets each. Mahmudul Hasan Joy scored 30 runs off 97 balls.
In response, South Africa scored 308 and took a 202-run first-innings lead. Wicketkeeper batter Kyle Verreynne was the top scorer for the visitors, with 114 runs off 144 balls.
Bangladesh showed resistance in the second innings. The hosts scored 307 and set a 106 target for the Proteas in the final innings.
The Aiden Markram-led team successfully chased down the target in overs with six wickets in hand.
Opener Tony de Zorzi scored a crucial 41 runs off 52 balls, including seven boundaries. Tristan Stubbs remained unbeaten on 30 runs off 37 balls. Taijul Islam picked up three wickets in the second innings.
Updated ICC World Test Championship Points Table (WTC Table) After BAN vs SA 1st Test 2024 Revealed
The Proteas have moved up to fourth place in the World Test Championship table with a percentage of 47.62.
They started the match in sixth place with a 38.89 PCT and now have surpassed New Zealand and England. Meanwhile, Bangladesh has remained in seventh place, but their PCT has decreased from 34.38 to 30.56.
