Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh believes that skipper Rohit Sharma is getting runs despite not being in peak form. Ahead of the highly anticipated Champions Trophy clash between India and Pakistan in Dubai, Yuvraj predicted that Rohit could smash a century in just 60 balls if he finds his rhythm.

Rohit bounced back from a disappointing Test series in Australia with a stunning century against England in the second ODI at home. He continued his form into the Champions Trophy by scoring a quickfire 41 off 36 balls against Bangladesh. His aggressive knock gave India a strong start in their chase.

Rohit Sharma Will Score a Century in 60 Balls - Yuvraj Singh

Speaking on JioHotstar's Greatest Rivalry Returns, Yuvraj Singh predicted that if Rohit Sharma finds his rhythm, he could smash a century in just 60 balls. Yuvraj said that Rohit not only finds boundaries but clears them with ease.

"If he’s in form, he will score a century in 60 balls. That’s his quality—once he gets going, he’s not just hitting fours; he’s clearing the ropes with sixes. He is also one of the best players of the short ball," Singh said, as quoted by Hindustan Times.

"Even if someone bowls at 145-150 kmph, Rohit has the ability to hook it effortlessly. His strike rate is always between 120-140, and on his day, he can single-handedly win you the game," he added.

India began their 2025 Champions Trophy campaign with a six-wicket victory over Bangladesh in Dubai. They will take on Pakistan in a high-stakes clash at the same venue on Sunday, February 23.

I Would Always Back My Match-Winners - Yuvraj Singh

The Player of the Tournament in the 2011 ODI World Cup said that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli remain match-winners regardless of their form. He said Rohit is India's greatest white-ball match-winner alongside Kohli.

"Rohit Sharma, whether in form or out of form, it doesn’t matter to me. I would always back my match-winners. In ODI cricket, especially in white-ball formats, he has been India’s biggest match-winner as a batsman, alongside Virat Kohli. If Rohit is struggling but still gets runs, that’s dangerous for the opposition," Yuvraj added.

Since the start of the 2023 World Cup, Rohit Sharma has played 18 ODI innings, scoring 917 runs at an average of 50.94 and a strike rate of 127.36. He has smashed two centuries and five half-centuries.

Against Pakistan, Rohit has been equally impressive, amassing 873 runs in 19 ODIs at an average of 51.35 and a strike rate of 92.38. He has registered two centuries and eight fifties, with his highest score being 140.

Virat and Rohit Are in a League of Their Own - Inzamam-ul-Haq

Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq stated that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are in a league of their own due to their consistent performances over nearly two decades. He stated that if both got out early, it would impact India's morale while boosting Pakistan’s confidence.

"There is no doubt that all Indian players are very good, but Virat and Rohit are in a league of their own. That’s because they have been performing consistently for nearly 20 years, and their impact on the team is massive. If they get out early, it will make a significant difference in India's dressing room, and Pakistan’s morale will rise," Inzamam said.
