I’ll Definitely Miss Him – James Anderson

Speaking to Sky Sports before the start of play on Day 5, James Anderson said that they will keep a photo of him and Stuart Broad posing together in their house to preserve memories of their on-field heroics.

“If we put one photo in our house of our careers, that will probably be that one. We’ve loved playing together. Neither of us could’ve achieved what we have without the other. Yeah, it’s been incredibly special and I’ll definitely miss him,” Anderson told Sky Sports.

Broad ended his Test career with 604 wickets, finishing as the fifth-leading wicket-taker in red-ball cricket. Anderson stands in second place with 690 wickets to his name. Muttiah Muralitharan (800), Shane Warne (708), and Anil Kumble (619) are the other bowlers who have surpassed 600 wickets.

Going To Watch The Rest Of Your Career – Stuart Broad

In a post-match conversation, Stuart Broad said that he would watch the rest of James Anderson’s career with a lot of pride.

“As I said last night, going to watch the rest of your ( James Anderson’s) career with a lot of pride, lot of support and drive for you. But instead of having a ball in hand, I’ll have beer in my hand (laughs),” Broad said.

The Ben Stokes-led team beat Australia by 49 runs in the final Test to level the five-match Ashes series at 2-2. Broad made his farewell match more special by picking up the last two wickets in Australia’s innings. He ended his Test career by taking a wicket on the final ball he bowled.
