Pakistan opening batter Imam-ul-Haq has been recalled by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the ongoing ODI Cup 2025 in England. The left-handed batter will feature in his final match for Yorkshire in the semi-final, set to be played at The County Ground, New Road in Worcester, on Sunday, August 31.
Yorkshire topped the group stage with seven wins in eight games. They and Worcestershire secured direct entry into the semifinals as group leaders. The remaining two semifinal spots will be decided through the quarterfinals, where Hampshire, Middlesex, and Gloucestershire will compete.
Imam-ul-Haq Set To Play Final Match For Yorkshire On Sunday

The second-tier four-day competition begins on 29 August across four venues, with 12 regional teams competing for two promotion spots.
Pakistan’s Test side will be back in action later this year as part of the new World Test Championship cycle. They will start their campaign with a two-match series against South Africa, who recently claimed the WTC crown at home in October 2025.
Pakistan had swept the Proteas 2-0 in their previous visit in 2021 and will look to repeat that success when the champions return.
Imam-ul-Haq, Second-Highest Scorer of One Day Cup 2025 in England
Imam-ul-Haq has been one of the standout players of the tournament, carrying Yorkshire’s batting almost singlehandedly after joining the side as a late replacement for India’s Ruturaj Gaikwad.
The left-hander started the season with 55 runs before scoring a List A career-best 159 against Warwickshire. He followed it up with another century (117) against Lancashire and added a third ton (106) against Sussex.
By the end of the group stage, Imam had amassed 583 runs in just seven innings at an average of 97.16 and a strike rate of 95.73, including three centuries and three half-centuries. He currently sits as the second-highest run scorer of the ongoing tournament.
Imam-ul-Haq Overlooked for Pakistan’s White Ball Squad, Absent from Tests Since 2018
Imam was not part of Pakistan’s recent ODI squad despite his impressive track record in the format. The 29-year-old opener last played in April during the series against New Zealand, where a string of low scores led to his exclusion.
The left-handed batter was ignored for the subsequent tour of the West Indies, where Pakistan, under Mohammad Rizwan’s leadership, suffered their first ODI series defeat to the Caribbean side in 34 years.
Imam has scored 3,152 runs in 75 ODIs at an average of 47.04, including nine centuries and 20 half-centuries. He has been out of Pakistan’s T20I setup since 2019 and has not featured in Tests since 2018.
