Legendary Pakistan cricketer and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has criticized the current Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) administration, led by Mohsin Naqvi.
Imran Khan's statement came after the Pakistan cricket team's loss against the Bangladesh cricket team during the first Test of the two-match series.
Pakistan suffered an embarrassing 10-wicket defeat against Bangladesh in the first Test match in Rawalpindi on Sunday, August 25.
The Pakistani team was bowled out for just 146 in their second innings. It is worth mentioning that this was Bangladesh's first-ever win over Pakistan in Test cricket history.
Pakistan opted for fast bowlers during the recent match against Bangladesh. Their four fast bowlers combined for disappointing figures of 9 wickets for 359 runs, with an average of almost 40.
Pakistan’s bowlers allowed Bangladesh to score 565 runs and gain a 117-run lead in the first innings.
We Faced An Embarrassing Defeat Against Bangladesh - Imran Khan
Speaking from Adiala Jail, where he is currently incarcerated, Imran Khan described the recent Test defeat to Bangladesh as "embarrassing."
He accused the current unqualified Pakistan Cricket Board administration of ruining the sport.
"Cricket is the only sport the entire nation watches with great interest on TV, but even that has been destroyed by powerful quarters who brought in an unqualified, favored official to maintain their control," Imran Khan said, as quoted by his account.

The former Pakistan skipper expressed disappointment over Pakistan's poor performances during the T20 World Cup 2024. The former Pakistan PM highlighted that the team had defeated India just two-and-a-half years ago. He attributed the team's decline to the current administration.
"For the first time, we (Pakistan) didn't make it to the top four in the World Cup or the top eight in T20. And yesterday, we faced an embarrassing defeat against Bangladesh, setting a new low. Just two-and-a-half years ago, this team had defeated India by 10 wickets. What has happened in these two-and-a-half years that we lost to Bangladesh by 10 wickets? The blame for all of this collapse falls on one institution," Imran added.
Mohsin Naqvi Owns Property Worth Five Million Dollars - Imran Khan
In a lengthy tweet, Imran Khan accused Mohsin Naqvi of corruption and mismanagement. He said that Naqvi owns $5 million worth of property in Dubai under his wife’s name.
"Mohsin Naqvi owns property worth five million dollars in Dubai under his wife’s name. He is involved in the wheat procurement scandal and was behind the most fraudulent election in our country," Imran wrote.
Mohsin Naqvi, head of the Pakistan Cricket Board, is facing immense scrutiny from former cricketers after Bangladesh stunned Pakistan with a 10-wicket victory in the first Test of the ongoing series.
Notably, this was Bangladesh's first-ever Test triumph over Pakistan in the history of Test cricket.
The second and final Test match of the series will be played at the same venue, starting on August 30, Friday. Pakistan hopes to win the match and level the series, while Bangladesh aims to complete a clean sweep of the two-match Test series.
