IND vs AFG: "KL Rahul Is A Great Leader" - Naveen-ul-Haq Heaps Praise On LSG Captain

India wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul is one of the best batsmen of the modern era and is known for his elegant batting style and cool behavior on the field. The last few months have been brilliant for Rahul as he has been scoring runs in every format he has played. Rahul played some brilliant knocks during the 2023 ODI World Cup and the Asia Cup 2023.

KL Rahul is also among the top batsmen when it comes to the Indian Premier League. Rahul has scored over 600 runs from 2020 to 2022 editions of the Indian Premier League, whereas, he was knocked out from the middle edition of the tournament as he faced an injury during a league match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Naveen-ul-Haq, who is KL Rahul‘s teammate in the IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants in an exclusive conversation with Times of India heaped praise on Rahul. Naveen-ul-Haq stated that Rahul has been a great leader and believes that he leads the team from the front.

Naveen-ul-Haq, “Exciting times are ahead. I am really excited for another season with Lucknow Super Giants. I am looking forward to a superb IPL season. I am sure we have a good competition.”

“He [Rahul] is a great leader. I played under his captaincy last year. He leads from the front. I am excited to play under his captaincy once again. I had a great time playing under his leadership. He is a great human being. He gives players that liberty and motivation. His work ethic is absolutely amazing. I am really happy and it feels good to be part of the team he is leading.”

Naveen-ul-Haq is currently part of Afghanistan’s squad for the three-match T20I series against India. Afghanistan are playing a T20I series for the first time in India and are coming into the series after a 2-1 win against the United Arab Emirates. The Afghani team showcased a brilliant performance in the recently concluded 2023 ODI World Cup and defeated top teams such as Pakistan, Sri Lanka and England.

Afghanistan were on the verge of defeating Australia at one point but Glenn Maxwell took the game away from Afghanistan.

Getting back to KL Rahul, the right-handed Indian batsman was not in decent form at the start of 2023 and the critics wanted him to be excluded from the team. Rahul also went through a lot of tough times when he was recovering from his injury.

KL Rahul made a fantastic return to the Indian cricket team and scored a century against Pakistan during the 2023 Asia Cup. Rahul also played a brilliant knock in Team India’s first 2023 ODI World Cup match against Australia. The Indian team lost two wickets from the top and in came KL Rahul.

KL Rahul put up an important partnership with Virat Kohli and played an unbeaten innings of 95 runs. Rahul was also brilliant behind the wickets and took a lot of catches with the gloves.
