Former cricketer Dodda Ganesh made a sarcastic comment about the upcoming three-match T20I series between India and Afghanistan. Dodda Ganesh expressed his reaction to the poster for the series featuring the Asian teams, scheduled to commence on January 11.

Team India will face Afghanistan in the T20I series at home from January 11 to 17. This series is marked as the final international series for India before the T20 World Cup 2024. Indian players will participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) before the World Cup.

Following India’s semifinal exit from the 2022 T20 World Cup, Rohit Sharma has been absent from T20I matches. Hardik Pandya has captained the T20I squad on numerous occasions. However, Pandya is unlikely to be available for the selection due to an ankle injury.

Suryakumar Yadav, who was given charge of the T20I squad in the recent series against Australia and South Africa, is also ruled out of the series due to injury. Broadcasters dropped a hint about India’s T20I captain in the absence of Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav.

Real Cricket Starts In January – Dodda Ganesh

The photograph, featuring Shubman Gill and Rashid Khan, strongly indicates Shubman Gill as the prospective new Indian captain for the upcoming series. Dodda Ganesh responded to a post with a sarcastic remark, stating, “Brace yourselves, real cricket starts in January.”

Afghanistan are yet to secure a victory against India in any T20I encounter, with the Men in Blue dominating all four previous T20I matchups between the two teams. Afghanistan will be eager to secure their maiden win against the Indian team in the upcoming T20I series.

India might opt for a youthful squad against Afghanistan, consistent with the trend observed in the recent series against South Africa and Australia. However, the selectors and BCCI have not provided any updates regarding the participation of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

After the T20I series against Afghanistan, the Men in Blue are scheduled to participate in a five-home Test series against England from January 25 to March 11. Following the Test series, IPL 2024 will provide ideal preparation for the Indian players for the T20 World Cup.

Give The RCB Fans Half The Money From The Purse – Dodda Ganesh

Dodda Ganesh expressed his frustration with RCB’s approach in the IPL 2024 auction, criticizing the franchise for neglecting significant gaps in their squad. The former pacer was astonished by the RCB’s decision to spend Rs 5 crore on left-arm pacer Yash Dayal.

“Give the RCB fans half the money from the purse and a freehand at the auction table; I bet you, our fans will select a much balanced team for all conditions and might as well save some money. Cannot believe that a pro crkt team can do such elementary mistakes #IPL2024”

“Any bowler can have a bad day. Yash Dayal too had one bad over. He is still a good bowler and had decent returns in the #SMAT. However, spending 5crs on him, is simply ridiculous, RCB. My mind boggles ? #IPL2024”
