IND vs AFG: Afghanistan Set to Host India in Delhi

India and Afghanistan will face each other in a three-match T20I series in Delhi. The Men in Blue have dominated their head-to-head record, winning eight of their nine previous T20Is against Afghanistan, while one match ended in a no-result. Afghanistan will look to register their first T20I win over India.

Afghanistan have plenty of experience in their squad, with senior players such as Rashid Khan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Mohammad Nabi, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Fazalhaq Farooqi. Fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq has also returned after recovering from a stress fracture in his right shoulder, giving the bowling attack another experienced option.

India, meanwhile, will be led by Shreyas Iyer, with Tilak Varma serving as vice-captain. The squad also includes Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, while Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Ravi Bishnoi will lead the bowling attack.

India hosted Afghanistan for their historic first Test in 2018, and the two teams have continued to meet regularly across formats. Afghanistan most recently toured India for a three-match ODI series in June 2026, which India won 3-0.
