Afghanistan finished their 20 overs at 172 runs against India and lost a total of four wickets in the last over bowled by Arshdeep Singh. The last over of the Afghani innings was an eventful one, as Mujeeb Ur Rahman got run out in one of the most hilarious fashions. On the fifth ball of the over, which was called a wide by the umpire, Mujeeb ran to sneak a single and keep the strike, but there was no response from his partner Naveen-ul-Haq.

Arshdeep Singh bowled a ball a length ball outside off stump which was missed by Naveen-ul-Haq. Eyeing the opportunity of a single, Mujeeb Ur Rahman ran to sneak a single, but Naveen didn’t respond to his call and kept standing at the striker’s end. Mujeeb also reached the striker end, making it easy for wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma to throw the ball back to Arshdeep Singh at the non-striker end and get an easy runout.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman played a useful cameo of 21 runs from nine balls which included 2 fours and 2 sixes. However, another run-out took place on the last ball when Naveen-ul-Haq tried to jam his bat and play the yorker. The ball was collected by wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma, who tried to run out Fazalhaq Farooqi with an underarm throw.

However, Jitesh Sharma missed the stumps, but both the Afghanistan batsmen tried to sneak another run, Fazalhaq Farooqi was not ready for the run and at last, he was run out by Yashasvi Jaiswal.

The Indian team will look forward to chasing down 173 runs on a batting-friendly Indore pitch. However, there is a bit of help for the spinners as well on the surface which is very good news for Afghanistan. Afghanistan have the likes of Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Noor Ahmad, who can prove to be crucial on this surface.

India would be starting with a new opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal will want to make full use of the opportunity and make some runs in the match. Jaiswal has been brilliant in his 15 matches old T20I career. Jaiswal has scored 434 runs at an average of 35.30.

Afghanistan had a decent performance with the bat in the second IND vs AFG T20I match as Gulbadin Naib helped the team reach a score of 172 runs. Naib scored 57 runs from 35 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes. Other than Naib, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, and Karim Janat played important little cameos for the team and also didn’t lose the momentum.

However, India also showcased a decent bowling performance as Arshdeep Singh was the highest wicket-taker with 3 wickets. Axar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi picked up 2 wickets apiece whereas Shivam Dube picked up 1 wicket.

The Afghanistani team will now want to defend the target against India and level the series. However, India are also full of power-packed batsmen and it may not be very difficult for them to chase down the target and seal the series.
