Indian skipper Rohit Sharma feels that Hardik Pandya is not just a seamer but a proper fast bowler who can crank up good speed. Rohit Sharma also said that Hardik Pandya provides the advantage of playing three spinners in the playing XI.
Hardik Pandya is a seam all-rounder who is a crucial part of India’s playing XI. He is the strongest medium-pace all-rounder for India. His addition helps the team to have an extra seamer in the playing XI. Pandya can also smash runs with the bat effectively.
Hardik Pandya Is A Proper Pacer- Rohit Sharma
While speaking to reporters in the IND vs AUS pre-match press conference, Rohit Sharma said that Hardik Pandya is not just a seamer but a proper pacer who can crank up good speed. Sharma also indicated the possibility of playing three spinners against Australia.
“Yeah, I mean that’s the luxury we have where we can afford to play three spinners because I don’t really consider Hardik Pandya as just a seamer. He (Hardik) is a proper fast bowler, who can crank up good speed. So, that gives us an advantage. That gives us that luxury of playing three spinners and three seamers as well. So, there’s a possibility of that,” Rohit Sharma said.

The Core Team Will Remain The Same: Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma also added that there can be one or two changes in matches according to the conditions. However, the core team will remain the same.
“We definitely want to be a team where we want to play the best 11, but you can pick your best 11 based on the conditions that you have in front of you. Where there is a bit of assistance to the slower bowlers, you need to bring in those slower bowlers”.
“So, your core of the team will remain the same. Your 8, 9, 10 players will remain the same. There will be one or two changes here and there, which you’ve got to be ready to accept and take it into your stride and move forward,” the Indian skipper further added.
Indian will commence their journey in ICC World Cup 2023 on Sunday, October 8 with a match against Australia. The IND vs AUS encounter takes place at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
