The newly-appointed president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Faruque Ahmed and the team's captain Najmul Hossain Shanto accepted the prize money from Asif Mahmud, Advisor to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

BCB preseident Faruque Ahmed accepted the bonus from Asif Mahmud, Advisor to the Ministry of Youth and Sports. A portion will be donated to help flood victims," BCB tweeted on X (formerly Twitter).

Bangladesh went to Pakistan with a poor record against the hosts in the cricketing history. But they turned it around with their superb performances in all the departments, be it batting, bowling, or fielding.

Perfect comeback in 1st Test match

In the first Test match, Najmul Hossain Shanto and his team responded brilliantly to Pakistan's first innings score of 448-6 dec. Bangladesh scored 565 runs in their first innings thanks to a marathon knock from Mushfiqur Rahim, who scored 191, and brilliant half-centuries from Shadman Islam, Mominul Haque, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

The bowlers then skittled out Pakistan for just 146 to march ahead in the game. Spinners Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz produced a scintillating display and shared 7-65 between them. The openers then chased down the target of 30 runs in quick time for their first Test win over Pakistan.

Bangladesh completed a clean sweep

In the second Test, the story was a little different but the result was the same. Despite a good start by Pakistan, Bangladesh's bowlers came back strongly to dismiss them for 274. In reply, Bangladesh scored 262 thanks to a magnificent century from Litton Das and a crucial half-century from Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Bangladesh's bowlers again produced a brilliant display in the second innings to dismiss Pakistan for just 172, thus needing 185 runs to win the match. The batting line-up produced a collective display to lead the side home with 6 wickets in hand.

This was a huge boost to Bangladesh's future in Test cricket as well as they were struggling in this format for a long time. The team will now play India in a two-match Test series beginning on September 19 in Chennai.
