Indian captain Rohit Sharma turned off-spinner in the practice session leading up to the upcoming clash against Bangladesh in the World Cup 2023. Rohit Sharma posed a challenge for Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja with his bowling for a brief period during the nets.
The Men in Blue will take on Shakib Al Hasan-led Bangladesh at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Thursday, October 19. Notably, Bangladesh won three matches out of the last four games between the Indian cricket team in the 50-over format.
Rohit Sharma Turns Off Spinner In Practice Session
In preparation for the upcoming match, Indian players participated in practice sessions. Notably, Rohit Sharma was seen practicing his off-spinners and managed to dismiss Ravindra Jadeja a couple of times. He successfully induced some mishits from the batter.
The Indian cricket team took to social media platform Instagram to share a clip of Rohit Sharma bowling in the nets ahead of the next match in the ICC tournament. “Say hello to off-spinner Rohit Sharma,” wrote the caption.

The 36-year-old refrained from bowling in professional cricket to prevent finger injuries. His most recent instance of bowling was during a match against Australia in January 2016. In one-day internationals, he has taken eight wickets in 254 games with an economy rate of 5.21.
Rohit has performed exceptionally well in the World Cup, amassing 217 runs in three matches with an average of 72.33. He started with a duck against Australia in Chennai. He bounced back with 131 runs against Afghanistan, followed by an 86-run knock against Pakistan.
