Paralympic gold medalist Navdeep Singh recently revealed that Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian Test and ODI teams, is his favorite cricketer. Navdeep Singh picked Rohit Sharma ahead of former India national cricket team captains Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni in his choice of cricketer.

Navdeep Singh won his first Paralympic gold medal in the Men's Javelin Throw F41 event at the 2024 Paralympics in Paris. The 23-year-old Haryana native's victory was special as he narrowly missed a podium finish in the previous edition, where he placed fourth at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020.

Rohit Sharma Had Scored A Double Century - Navdeep Singh

Navdeep Singh recently appeared on Shubhankar Mishra's YouTube show 'Unplugged.' During the interview, Mishra pointed out that Navdeep won India’s seventh gold medal on September 7 and compared it to MS Dhoni’s famous jersey number.

When asked if he was a fan of MS Dhoni or Virat Kohli, Navdeep chose Rohit Sharma as his favorite cricketer. The 23-year-old Paralympic gold medalist also revealed the reason for becoming a fan of Rohit, adding that he admired his double centuries.

“Rohit Sharma. He plays very well. He had scored a double century. What an innings that was! Since then I’ve been his fan,” Navdeep replied.

Rohit Sharma led India to their second T20 World Cup title in June. He became the third Indian captain, after Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni, to win an ICC trophy as captain. India won the match by seven runs in a nail-biting encounter. Rohit was also the second-highest run-scorer of the tournament.

The 37-year-old will next be seen in action during the two-match Test series against Bangladesh at home. India will take on Bangladesh in the first Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai starting on September 19. The second Test will take place at the Green Park in Kanpur from September 27.
