The ongoing warm-up game between India and Bangladesh in New York was briefly interrupted due to a fan entering the ground. The game is taking place at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York.

The incident took place in the second half of the game when India were bowling. The fan invaded the pitch in order to meet India captain Rohit Sharma. The fan was quickly tackled down by the police officials and Rohit asked them to be lenient but his plea did not make any difference as the security officials escorted the fan out of the field.

India in the driver's seat:

As far as the game is concerned, Team India are in the driver's seat. At the time of writing this report, Bangladesh were reeling on 84 for 5 in the 15th over while chasing 183 runs. At one stage, they were reeling at 41 for 5 before Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah steadied the ship.

Earlier in the game, a half-century from Rishabh Pant helped India recover from a shaky start and post a competitive total of 182 for 5 in the allotted 20 overs. The wicketkeeper-batsman scored 53 runs off 32 balls with the help of four fours and as many sixes. Suryakumar Yadav (31) and Hardik Pandya (40*) also played crucial knocks.

The ongoing game is India's only warm-up game for the T20 World Cup. For the main tournament, the Men in Blue are drawn in Group A along with Ireland, Pakistan, Canada, and the USA. The Rohit Sharma-led side will open their campaign against Ireland on June 5 before taking on Pakistan on June 9.

It will be followed by the games against the USA and Canada on June 12 and 15 respectively. India will be playing all of their group games in the USA. Two of the five teams will be progressing to the Super 8s stage and India are the favorites to progress from Group A along with Pakistan.
