India batter Shivam Dube didn’t have the kind of outing he would’ve wanted in his first game for Team India after the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He couldn’t live up to his reputation in the practice game with Bangladesh ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024.

The warmup game of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 between India and Bangladesh is underway at the Nassau County Cricket Stadium in New York. India opted to bat first and they had a decent outing with the bat as they got used to the conditions before the tournament.

While it was a decent outing for some players with the bat, few would be displeased with themselves for not making the opportunity count. One of them was Shivam Dube, who couldn’t get going with the bat at the Nassau County Cricket Stadium in New York.

Shivam Dube walked out to bat after Rishabh Pant got retired out after scoring a blistering half-century. It was expected that the all-rounder would set the stage on fire as slams big sixes against the spinner like he did in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

Shivam Dube looked to ease into the innings and hit some big blows but his stay at the crease by cut short by the brilliance of Mahmudullah on the field. During the 4th ball of the 15th over, he tried to take Mahedi Hasan down the ground.

Shivam Dube advanced down the track and got close to the length of the ball. He attempted to hit the ball down the ground. Mahmudullah, who was at the long-on, moved to his right and took a good shoulder-high catch.

The ball was traveling quickly towards him and Mahmudullah realized that he might fall over. He, however, threw the ball up and then adjusted brilliantly once again to complete the catch and send the batter packing at the Nassau County Cricket Stadium in New York.

Here’s the video:

Shivam Dube ended with an innings of 14 runs off just 16 balls. He managed a strike rate of around 87 and slammed one six in his innings. The Batter would be hoping to turn things around when the tournament starts and help his team win.

India post a total of 182 runs in a warmup game

India had a decent outing with the bat in the game against Bangladesh. At the top, Rishabh Pant slammed a magnificent half-century whereas skipper Rohit Sharma (23) at the top played a decent knock. Suryakumar Yadav (31) also managed to get some runs under his belt.

After Dube got out, it was Hardik Pandya, who played a sensational innings with the bat. The all-rounder, who didn’t look in good touch with bat in IPL, played a brutal innings in the end. He scored an unbeaten 40 runs off 23 balls to take his team to a total of 182 runs on the board.
