IND vs BAN: Watch - Ravindra Jadeja Puts More Pressure On Shubman Gill As He Gets Castled By Mustafizur Rahman

India National Cricket Team senior all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja once again failed to deliver with the bat at the crucial moment against Bangladesh National Cricket Team on Friday, September 15, and his dismissal put extra pressure on the star opener Shubman Gill.

The 6th match of the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four stage between the Rohit Sharma-led India National Cricket Team and Shakib Al Hasan-led Bangladesh National Cricket Team was played at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

Jadeja hasn’t been able to perform well with the bat in ODIs for quite some time and that continued in the match against Bangladesh. He had a poor record against the Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman and once again lost his wicket to the quick.

On the fourth ball of the 38th over, Mustafizur bowled a length delivery that was angling in and Jadeja looked to go big by heaving across the line but was beaten as his middle stump was uprooted. Jadeja scored just 7 runs off 12 balls, before walking back to the hut and leaving Gill in the middle with 96 runs still needed for the win. Overall, Mustafizur has dismissed him three times in 26 balls in ODIs.

Speaking ahead of the match, Ravindra Jadeja said that the victory against Pakistan in the Asia Cup was a satisfactory one and India’s match against Sri Lanka was terrific. He elaborated:

“Whenever we step onto the field, we always take pride in ourselves in playing for India. The win against Pakistan gave us more satisfaction but at the same time, the game against Sri Lanka was also terrific. We did well in every department, we bowled well and fielded well. 

“We’re representing our country and we take pride in going out there and playing for our country. I’m working on my bowling. Whenever I step onto the field I look to bowl at the stumps and try and not give them room. I look at the field placements and keeping all that in mind, I bowl according to the batsman.”
