Avesh Khan is the first player who can make his debut in IND vs ENG Test series. The right-arm pacer has replaced Mohammed Shami in the squad for the upcoming 2nd Test against South Africa.

However, he is unlikely to make his debut with India trailing 1-0 in the series. Hence, Avesh Khan might get an opportunity in the Test series against England. The Indian team is scheduled to play 5 Tests against England.

Therefore, Khan is highly likely to make his debut in one of the games. With 38 wickets in 8 games in the last Ranji Trophy season, Avesh Khan finished as the highest wicket-taker for the Madhya Pradesh team.

2. Ruturaj Gaikwad

Ruturaj Gaikwad is another Indian player who can make his debut in IND vs ENG Test series. The right-handed batsman was part of the squad for the Test series against West Indies in August. However, he did not get a chance to make his Test debut.

The opening batsman has done a wonderful job in the few T20Is and ODIs so far. He recently finished as the leading run-getter in the five-match T20I series against Australia in November. Gaikwad also led a young Indian team to victory in Asian Games 2023.

1. Sarfaraz Khan

Sarfaraz Khan was a fabulous batter in Ranji Trophy 2022-23 season. With 3 tons in 9 tons, he became a highlight of the Mumbai team in the tournament. At an average of 92+, Khan mustered 556 runs across 9 innings.

His performance was so loud that some experts also batted for his inclusion in the Australia Test series in March. However, the 28-year-old was not picked for Australia series. Sarfaraz Khan was also part of the recent Test India A vs South Africa Test series.

The wicketkeeper-batsman mustered 102 runs in 2 innings with 1 half-century. After his good show, Sarfaraz Khan might get an opportunity to play his first Test in the forthcoming IND vs ENG Test series.
