Watch- Jack Leach entangled in bandages ahead of 3rd Day's play in Hyderabad, England camp shell shocked
England is struggling with their bowling in the first Test as India has taken a 190-run lead in the first innings. However, they cannot catch a breath as their most experienced spinner in the squad Jack Leach was seen heavily bandaged ahead of the third day’s play in the first Test against India which is being played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.
Jack Leach was seen heavily bandaged on his left leg ahead of the day’s play. He is the only spinner present in the squad who has previously played Test cricket in the subcontinent. It will be a big trouble for the Ben Stokes-led side if Jack Leach gets injured in the series as he is the leader of the England spin-attack in this series and will be an important asset for the Three Lions against the hosts.
Jack Leach is not having a great Test match against India as the off-spinner has managed to take only one wicket against India in the first Test but it was of the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma. Leach was seen struggling during the second day’s play and ahead of the third day was spotted heavily bandaged. Jack Leach has bowled 25 overs in the innings and has taken one wicket after giving 54 runs.
Jack Leach made his debut for England in 2018 and has only played Test cricket for the national team. He has made 35 Test appearances and has taken 125 wickets at an average of 34.38. He previously toured India in 2021 when England lost the series 3-1 against the hosts. India has not lost any home Test series since 2012 when they were beaten by England 2-1.

India is currently holding a strong position against England as the visitors batted first and got bowled out for 246. The hosts have taken a 190-run lead against England in the first innings laying back on some beautiful performances by opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja. Yashasvi Jaiswal gave a flying start to the Indian innings scoring 80 off just 74 balls followed by some brilliant batting by KL Rahul who played a sensible knock scoring 86 off 123 deliveries.
Ravindra Jadeja has been the star for India with both bat and the ball as the No.1 Test all-rounder took three wickets and also scored 87 off 180 balls. Meanwhile, England bowled out India on 436 runs and now will have to trail 190 runs which will not be an easy job to do given the spinning tracks of Hyderabad on the third day. Jack Leach is currently the only spinner in the match to get less than two wickets.
Joe Root was the start for England with the ball as the part-timer took four wickets in the match and showed his prowess with the ball. England batters have a tough job ahead of them and India will likely win this match easily. However, the Indian bowlers would want to win the match by an innings and start the series with a huge win.
