Ace Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah expressed frustration over skipper Rohit Sharma and wicketkeeper KS Bharat during England’s second innings. Jasprit Bumrah’s reaction came after Rohit Sharma decided not to take a review in the ongoing first Test in Hyderabad.

India resumed the third day with a total of 421/7, featuring Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel at the crease. Joe Root dismissed Jadeja for 87 runs in a controversial fashion. The India team was bowled out for 436 runs, securing a substantial 190-run lead in the first innings

Joe Root was the wrecker-in-chief, picking up four wickets for 79 runs in 29 overs. Debutant Tom Hartley (2-131) and leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed (2-105) contributed with two wickets each. Jack Leach took one wicket, while the lone pacer, Mark Wood, went wicketless.

Jasprit Bumrah bowled only two overs with the new ball in England’s second innings on the third day. The right-arm pacer created an opportunity in his first over after the lunch break. Ben Duckett was undone by Bumrah, who skillfully moved the old ball in both directions.

The incident occurred in the 17th over of England’s second innings in the series opener. Jasprit Bumrah bowled a sharp inswinging delivery to Ben Duckett, trapping him in front of the stumps. Despite Bumrah’s appeal, the on-field decision favored the English opener.

Skipper Rohit Sharma opted not to review the decision after consulting with wicketkeeper KS Bharat, despite having three reviews left. However, three reds were indicated on the replay, with ball tracking showing it hit the leg. Duckett survived the potential dismissal.

India’s decision not to review the umpire’s decision did not prove costly, as Jasprit Bumrah rattled Duckett’s stumps in the next over. Bumrah bowled an inswinging delivery that nipped back off the seam, beating Duckett’s inside edge and uprooting the off-stump.

Bumrah continued his impressive spell by claiming the crucial wicket of Joe Root. He bowled an exceptional spell on the slow and spin-friendly surface. Root departed for just 2 runs as ball-tracking showed the impact on the leg stump with the umpire’s call in play.

Don’t Really Relate To The Term Bazball – Jasprit Bumrah

Before the start of the series, Jasprit Bumrah shared his perspective on ‘Bazball’, expressing that he doesn’t connect with the term. However, he stated that their aggressive cricketing approach keeps bowlers in the game and presents opportunities to take wickets.

“I don’t really relate to the term Bazball. But they are playing successful cricket and the aggressive route of taking the opposition on, showing the world there’s another way to play Test cricket. As a bowler, what I think is that it keeps me in play. And if they’re going for it, playing so fast, they won’t tire me out, I could get heaps [of wickets]. I always think about how I can use things to my advantage. Kudos to them but, as a bowler, you’re in the game,” Bumrah said.
