Rohit Sharma is making a big impact in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 against England. Match 29 is taking place at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow and the Indian skipper made sure that he puts his team in a comfortable position in their 6th game of the tournament.
Rohit came under a bit of pressure after India lost three quick wickets. He has taken a different path in this innings as compared to the aggressive he has been playing in the tournament. The Indian batter built his innings perfectly and made sure that he held the one end despite wickets falling at the other end.
Rohit Sharma however, got a second chance in his innings as DRS saved him. He was struck on pads by Mark Wood and the umpire raised his finger. There was a pin-drop silence after that. The batter however took review and the ball tracker showed that it was missing the stumps.
As DRS saved Rohit, his wife Ritika Sajdeh gave a reaction that caught the attention of many. She sighed in relief reaction and the video of her reaction went viral on the internet. Here’s the clip:

Rohit ended with the knock with 87 runs off 101 balls. He bailed India out of trouble and made sure that they are in a comfortable position in the game. He batted with a strike rate of 86.14 and also smashed 10 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. He was gutted with himself after he got out. Had he been there till the end, India surely would’ve got a big total on the board.
IND vs ENG: Rohit Sharma Shatters Multiple Records After His 87 against England
Rohit Sharma during his innings smashed quite a few records. He became only the fifth batter from his country to score 18000 runs in international cricket, joining the likes of great Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and others.
Apart from this, Rohit Sharma also became the sixth Indian ODI captain to score over 1000 runs in a year. He also surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s tally for the second-highest number of runs for India in the history of the World Cups.
