Former India batsman, Aakash Chopra praised the 27-year-old bowler, Prasidh Krishna after his performance in the second T20I match on Sunday (August 20th) at Malahide Cricket Club in Dublin.

In the first inning, India gave a target of 186 runs after Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Sanju Samson along with Rinku Singh played a stunning knock.

In the second inning, the bowling attack did a stellar job while defending the target. Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets in his four-over spell and gave away 15 runs. Prasidh Krishna and Ravi Bishnoi also picked two wickets and helped the Men in Blues win the match by 22 runs.

While speaking on his official YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra said that the very first day he saw Prasidh Krishna, he knew that he will make a mark due to his fast bowling.

“There is no doubt that this Krishna will become Prasidh. He is one of my favorite bowlers. When I saw him for the first time, I said that he will become famous because he has got all the basic ingredients of fast bowling,” Chopra said on Prasidh Krishna.

The 45-year-old said that Prasidh came at a good time in Indian cricket and that he picked two wickets in the second T20I match with two short balls.

“He has a high-arm action, gets good bounce and the pace is also around 140 kph. He has come back at a very good time. He picked up two wickets, both with short balls, first Paul Stirling and then Lorcan Tucker,” Chopra added.

Later, the former Indian batsman also talked about Ravi Bishnoi and how he maintained his consistency and took two wickets in consecutive matches.

“Then Bishnoi comes and it is almost confirmed that Bishnoi will pick up two wickets against this team. He took two in the last match as well and he scalped two wickets in this match too,” the 45-year-old further added.

Aakash Chopra said how Jasprit Bumrah was touching 140kmph delivery during his spell. The former batsman praised Bumrah for his maiden over in the last over of the second inning.

“Bumrah came in the end, bowled only one over at the start. He also picked up two wickets. He bowled the 20th over as a maiden (apart from four byes). You don’t remember the last time when the 20th over was a maiden but it happened here, and he was also touching 140 kph this time,” the former India player concluded.

India will square off against Ireland in the third T20I match on Wednesday (August 23rd) at Malahide Cricket Club in Dublin.
