In a massive boost to the India National Cricket Team in the World Cup year, the premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah and the star batter Shreyas Iyer are expected to make their blockbuster comeback in the upcoming T20I series against Ireland, according to reports in the Indian Express. Also, a massive update has come out on the return of pacer Prasidh Krishna to competitive cricket.

Bumrah was last seen in action on September 25, 2022, against Australia, and since then he has been out of action with a back injury. He underwent surgery in March before traveling to the NCA for rehabilitation.

Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer last played for India in the final Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, he was unable to bat for India in that game due to his lower-back injury.

Talking about Prasidh Krishna, he was last seen in action on August 20, 2022, against Zimbabwe. He was then ruled out of competitive cricket due to a lumbar stress fracture for which he also underwent surgery.

Massive Update On Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, Prasidh Krishna’s Return To Competitive Cricket

Bumrah has reportedly started bowling full throttle in the nets, where he is delivering 8-10 overs. Bumrah is on the verge of regaining full fitness and he could return to action in the Ireland T20I series, which will be played on August 18, 20 and 23. Ahead of his international return, the pacer could also feature in a few practice matches at the NCA.

Meanwhile, there was a question mark over Prasidh Krishna’s comeback in time for the World Cup. However, the pacer has started bowling regularly in the nets and even though he could miss out on the Ireland tour, he is expected to feature in India’s squad for Asia Cup 2023, according to the Indian Express.

Talking about Iyer, the middle-order batter has fully recovered and has started batting in the nets. He will most likely travel with Jasprit Bumrah to Ireland for the series.
