India’s batting superstar Virat Kohli has finally shown a glimpse of what he does best, and the fans love to watch ahead of the Men in Blue’s opening game against Ireland in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in New York on Wednesday, June 5.

Well, after missing a couple of training sessions and the warm-up match against Bangladesh, Kohli began his preparations for the T20 World Cup with a rigorous net session at the Nassau County Cricket Ground in New York on Tuesday, June 4.

Notably, he arrived in New York only the day before the warm-up game, so he was rested for the match. It was the former Indian skipper’s first training session in the USA ahead of his team’s T20 World Cup 2024 opener against the Ireland cricket team in New York on Wednesday.

However, the Indian cricket team's presence at the ground usually creates a lot of buzz, but the atmosphere in New York was different, as captured in a video shared by the BCCI on their social media handles. Meanwhile, Kohli's practice session was extensive, with him batting along with his teammates Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav at the nets.

However, the pitch conditions were less than ideal at the Nassau County Cricket Ground, showing some unpredictable bounce that left captain Rohit visibly dissatisfied. Despite these challenges, Kohli showed unwavering dedication, focusing intensely on his batting technique during his time at the nets.

During the nets session, the dashing right-hander focused significantly on perfecting his off-side strokes, and it suggests his strategic effort to refine his game, possibly addressing technical weaknesses or preparing to counter specific types of deliveries he anticipates facing during the upcoming matches in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.

Well, the Indian cricket team trained for nearly three hours at the Nassau County Cricket Ground. Among the players, Kohli stood out with a striking performance in the nets, batting for almost 40 minutes to acclimate to the conditions in New York.

During his 40-minute net session, Kohli faced Indian pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, all-rounder Hardik Pandya, spin all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. The Indian batting maestro took his time to assess the conditions before showing his fluency and style in the nets. He was seen in complete control throughout his training session.

It is being said that Hardik had another lengthy session in the nets, as the star all-rounder was given virtual environments to help him perform as a finisher ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 matches. Hardik was the last to leave the camp after his focused batting session in New York.

Notably, Kohli arrived in the USA for the T20 World Cup 2024 on the back of an outstanding IPL 2024 season, where he earned the Orange Cap for being the leading run-scorer with 741 runs in 15 matches for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and now he would love to extend his red-hot form in the global event as well.
