The highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan was washed out as rain played spoilsport during the third match of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. Following the washout between the arch-rivals in Pallekele, another Group A match between India and Nepal could face a similar fate.

The Rohit Sharma-led team is currently in second place in the Group A points table with one point in their tally. On the other hand, the Babar Azam-led team is at the top of the three-team points table and has already advanced to the Super Stages of the continental tournament with three points.

According to the most recent weather reports, there are high chances of rain during the India-Nepal clash. The rain hasn’t stopped in Pallekele since yesterday and is expected to continue on Monday. The outcome of the India-Nepal match will determine the top two teams of the group.

India Will Advance To Super Four With A Washout Against Nepal

The Men in Blue will take on the Rohit Paudel-led team in their second and final league stage match at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Monday, September 4. The winner will advance to the next stages of the tournament along with the Pakistan National Cricket Team.

The India National Cricket Team will advance to the next stage with two points if rain prevents a result in the match. India will then have two points in their account, while Nepal will have just one point. Both the group stage and Super Four matches have no reserve days for rain-interrupted matches.
